Weathertech Roof Basket
The WeatherTech Roof Basket significantly expands your Volkswagen’s cargo-carrying capability, helping you bring everything you need without overloading the cabin or relying on a second vehicle. Moving gear to the roof creates more interior room for passengers, making long drives and family road trips far more comfortable.
Offered in two size options—Large and XL—with optional Length Extenders available, the Roof Basket can be tailored to fit different vehicles and travel needs. Roof rack crossbars are required for installation and are sold separately.
Roof Basket Large – External Dimensions: 50.1" x 40.2"
- Fits sedans and compact SUVs

Roof Basket XL – External Dimensions: 50.1" x 52"

Both Roof Basket sizes are constructed from high-strength, impact-resistant plastic that will not rust, chip, or corrode like traditional metal roof carriers. Each basket is engineered to support up to 175 lbs. of cargo, while the basket itself weighs approximately 25–35 lbs., depending on configuration. Always follow your vehicle manufacturer’s maximum roof load rating and secure all cargo using quality ratchet straps, such as WeatherTech Ratchet Tie-Down Straps.
